My time as an Artist in Residence with the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation on the Irish cliffs was… let’s say, floating somewhere between reality and fiction. Two months of wind, rain, and wild inspiration. In a remote house above the roaring sea, I tried my best to live up to the title of artist-in-residence.

The project was called Irish Diary—inspired by Heinrich Böll, though to be honest, sometimes it felt more like I was living in an ancient Celtic myth. Between drifting mists, sheep, and endless waves, ghosts of the past would suddenly appear: Celtic warriors, old druids, and maybe even a few Vikings who seemed to be watching me through the fog. 🌫️👀

Sometimes I wasn’t sure if the roar of the sea was just the wind—or the whisper of long-forgotten stories. What’s real, what’s myth? In Ireland, it all blends together. And if you stare at the ocean for too long, a Celtic boat might just rise from the depths. 🛶🐉

Now that I’m back in the here and now, I’m sharing a few impressions: sketches from the in-between, mystical landscapes, and the lingering question of whether I created art—or simply became part of an Irish fairytale.

The spatial interventions were shown during the Open Studios, all created within a 1 km radius of the residency.

Looking back, it was great—and wet. Very wet. But hey, I survived and came away with plenty… especially a ridiculous number of sheep selfies. 🐑📸
